Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival

In addition to celebrating Mother Earth, the Sierra Nevada will host a free family festival on April 28, Tahoe Truckee Earth Day. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the live music and entertainment, information sessions, arts and craft stations, and raffles. Unlike many festivals, Tahoe Truckee Earth Day is open to the public, making it a great family event for all ages. If you’re considering attending, we’ve gathered some information that you might find helpful.

Organizers

Organizers of Tahoe Truckee Earth Days are a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate the public about environmental issues and the unique beauty of the Tahoe Truckee region. During the Festival, the general public is invited to learn about alternative energy, climate change, and forest health, and to participate in hands-on projects that will improve their local environment. The day’s activities will also focus on alternative energy and local art.

Sponsors

The first ever Earth Day march in Tahoe was organized by the Tahoe Climate Change Action Network in 2017. The event was timed to coincide with nationwide marches against President Trump’s environmental policies, changes to the Environmental Protection Agency, and the rollback of Obama-era regulations on fossil fuels. This year’s Earth Day event will feature 40 parks in California for restoration and cleanup projects. It’s free to attend and open to the public, so bring your family and friends along to help save the planet.
